Ok, there are several different looting systems out there, and there are three main ones I think work best. One thing to keep in mind that under ALL of the following systems, tanks and healers will get priority over shared gear, such as tier tokens because it will help the guild progress faster as a whole. Also Initiates are not eligible for loot unless no one else needs it!
Loot system 1: The Loot Council
At the start of every raid, the Raid leader will choose 4 other people to join them making a 5 man loot council. 2 of the chosen people must be officers or higher, and 2 must be veterans or lower. The council can then decide how to distribute loot. They can either choose an individual to receive the item, or choose a few individuals and have them /roll on the item.
Loot system 2: The Roll
When an item is dropped, the lootmaster will link the item in a raidwarning format. Anyone eligible for the item for use as thier main spec will then type /roll, whoever is highest wins. If there is a tie, the people involved in the tie will /roll again until a clear victor emerges.
Loot system 3: The Diminishing Roll
An item is dropped, and the lootmaster links the item as if it were a normal role. After a player wins an item due to rolling, they are still eligible to roll for other drops, but their roll will be reduced by 10 each time. Instead of typing /roll, they would type /roll 90. For every item awarded by rolling that night, the max number your roll can be will be reduced by 10. Now lets go to a scenario... Player A and Player B both want the item that dropped of the boss. Both players type /roll to try for the item. Player A rolls a 78 and player B rolls a 34. Player A wins the item.
A few bosses later another item drops that both Players A and Players B want. This time, since player A won the first item, he is going to type /roll 90, whereas player B just types /roll. This means that Player A can still will the item, player B has a mathematically better chance of winning. The point of this system is to distribute loot more evenly during raids, so one person does have a lucky night and take all the ITAMZ.
If you have any other ideas, or suggestions for these looting systems let me know. There is an attached poll _________________ Eat chit Mike. |
